Topic: Isothermal curves, Boyle's T and crit point Hello! I found this in the printouts I was given by the professor, and can't understand what it refers to. "If the equation relating p to V at constant T is known, the critical variables are obtained from: (dp/dV)=0 and (d^2p/dV^2)=0" What would that equation be? The virial of state? Boyle's? The ideal? Do those derivates refer to the max point (of the last wholly gaseous curve), aka the critical point? If they do, what would they tell me aside from the fact that it's a max? I don't see any coordinates... And the second equation? Thank you!
