So I'm writing an essay on this How have these two authors expressed their relationships with nature? After reading and analyzing “Calypso Borealis,” an essay by John Muir, and William Wordsworth’s poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud,” write an essay in which you describe how each author views nature and answer the question. Support your discussion with evidence from the text. I already have the thesis statement, but I can't figure out how to hook the reader at the beginning. Any ideas?
My thesis statement is "Both authors expressed their relationship with nature diversely, but both in a positive and aspiring way that makes both stories intriguing while simultaneously being variant.
I need to start it off with some kind of interesting hook to draw the readers in. This is where I struggle the most lol.
Sounds About Right
That was posted last week......lol
I still need help on it though.
Well you can start off with an interesting question, for example, If I'm writing about 2 dog species; I could say, "How different can two species be?" That's what I learned :3 Good luck with your essay! Remember an essay is ordered in this way: Hook/introduction(mini opening to what you're going to talk about, kind of like a thesis statement) Thesis: Bigger version of introduction ,but you want to keep it kind of simple. Just tell them clearly what you're going to talk about without telling the whole story, that's what the paragraphs are for. (Don't start the thesis or intro like this though: "Today, I am going to talk about.... blah blah." X 3- or more paragraphs to tell the readers the whole story Ending: Repeat thesis in different words to remind the readers of the point of the story.
And give an conclusion to finish it off
Thanks
