PRE-ALGEBRA HELP!
@jabez177 @mathstudent55 @sweetburger
@BlazeRyder please answer :)
Give me a second. =)
ok
First you need to find the difference between the prices and the divide by the number of years. \[1350-750=600\]\[600\div10=60\]So he increased the price by 60 dollars each year. And the initial value would be 750. So A's answer would be: The initial value is 750 and the rate of change is 60. For B: \[y=mx+b\]With the initial value and the rate of change you can write the slope-intercept form without any additional math. So B would be:\[y=60x+750\] Does this makes sense?
yes, so whats the answer for A?
Initial value: 750 Rate of change: 60 or +60 (Depends on what your teacher wants)
ok but i need you to like explain it more
like how you got the answer..
No problem! Alright so, first the initial value or the starting value. The starting value would be 750 because this is his price when he first started his business. Does this part make sense?
@volleyballlover55
yes
Alright, not the second part of the question: the rate of change. So, how I did it was I subtracted the final price from the initial price and got 600. So over the 10 years the price increased by $600 After that I divided the 600 by 10 to get the rate of change. Make sense?
ok wait, so whats the complete answer for A?
The complete answer for A would be the initial value is 750 and the rate of change is 60.
ok and how do you know? thats apart of A
