nolegirl24:

The length of a rectangle is represented by the function L(x) = 4x. The width of that same rectangle is represented by the function W(x) = 7x^2 − 4x + 2. Which of the following shows the area of the rectangle in terms of x? (L + W)(x) = 7x^2 + 2 (L + W)(x) = 7x^2 − 8x + 2 (L ⋅ W)(x) = 28x^3 − 16x^2 + 8x (L ⋅ W)(x) = 28x^3 − 4x + 2

dude:

Area is length times width \(A=lw\) So, \((4x)(7x^2 − 4x + 2)\)

nolegirl24:

Okay so it would look like this? 28x^3 - 16x + 2

dude:

Close, for -16x you forgot to add the exponents and then you forgot to multiply 4x and 2

nolegirl24:

so like 28x^3 - 16x^2 + (I thought you couldnt do that because the two doesnt have a x)

dude:

That is when adding, you are distributing here, so you're only really just multiplying

nolegirl24:

so it will be 8x?

nolegirl24:

brb dinner

dude:

Yes and okay

nolegirl24:

I´m back @dude

nolegirl24:

It would be C right? @dude

sillybilly123:

yes

nolegirl24:

Thanks @sillybilly123
