Uh use the 30-60-90 special right triangle rule
To find y the hypotenuse: We have: SOHCAHTOA We want to find a ration that uses H. So, clearly tan is out of the eqn. We're definitely going to need to use the 17 length side. So, we'll need to label our sides. y is the hypotenuse. The side opposite to theta (30 degrees) is opposite and the last remaining side is the adjacent. So the 17 side is opposite, y is hypotenuse and x is adjacent. So we want a ration that has hyp and opp. That would be sin sin(θ) = O/H You just need to plug in the values (we know theta and Opposite) and find H using cross multiplication or any method you are comfortable with. After you find y the hyp you can easily find x. Just use the Pythagorean theorem. c^2=a^2+b^2. But be careful which values you plug in. c = hyp and a and b can be either the opp side or adj side. Lemme see what you get and I'll go over it. (:
@rEsTiNpEaCe or @dude I got x=17 \[\sqrt{3}\], and y=34
