An electric field measured near a point charge of 3.00×10−6 C has a strength of 1.50×105 N/C. How far is the point from the source charge? 0.30 m 0.42 m 0.36 m 0.095 m

jennylove:

i think its 0.36 ?

justjm:

Did you use the formula \(E=k\frac{Q}{r^2}\)?

jennylove:

i did ,but i went to do it again and actually got 0.42

justjm:

Okay I'll do it. BTW, a big trap in electric field questions are units, because typically problems like to mess around. So be careful with your units :)

jennylove:

like this right?

jennylove:

yes could you double check yourself, thank you (: i may have made an error

justjm:

I get .42 as well

jennylove:

Awesome ! thanks !
