Is this for a quiz?

marissabartoldo:

no homework

NerdyLizard:

And you are allowed outside help?

marissabartoldo:

yes

NerdyLizard:

Ok just checking One second

NerdyLizard:

With the given image I am unsure what the exact answer is. You may want to call someone else to help.

marissabartoldo:

@astrid1

NerdyLizard:

Actually, I figured it out. You have to solve the equation to find the x of the vertex for -b.

NerdyLizard:

The original equation: x=-b/2a When solved for b: 2ax=-b. Simply input a (which is given) and x (which we estimate to be 2.). Don't forget, this will give you the NEGATIVE of B this means you must multiply by -1 to get the actual b. :)

marissabartoldo:

wait so what is a?

NerdyLizard:

The equation is formed like this: ax^2+bx+c. If there is "no" a and the first x is negative that means that a = -1

marissabartoldo:

ok

marissabartoldo:

I got b=4

NerdyLizard:

As I have said before. I am unable to assist you with the final answer. If you followed the above process it should be right. :) (Unless I am a complete noob and messed up hehe)
