ok so its a little hard to explain but you do know : 2.34+-2/7+(-0.45)+3/8/4 simplifies to 9509/5600 , correct?

dukedadon:

ok so look at the (-0.45)

dukedadon:

Remove unneeded parentheses around terms

Sock:

ok

dukedadon:

it becomes 0.45

Sock:

wouldn't that be absolute value?

dukedadon:

just listen.

Sock:

ok, sorry

dukedadon:

look at the 8 / 4 , multiply the demonitor intergers.

dukedadon:

what is 8x4?

Sock:

32

dukedadon:

exactly, so it would become 3/32

dukedadon:

add the fractions and intergers together and the answer would be 9509/5600. is that an answer choice or is the question open-ended?

Sock:

open-ended

Sock:

and after that you would divide it by four?

dukedadon:

ill do it on a jamboard for you.

dukedadon:

that way you have a better understanding,

dukedadon:

1 attachment
Sock:

oooh i see what happened, the / at the end means division not mulitplication

dukedadon:

yeaaa , exactly (:

dukedadon:

if you have any more questions just dm me or @ me :D

Sock:

ty :D
