HAIIIIII!!!! Can someone please help me?! Plan Your Investigation Ecologists have discovered that the seeds of many plants that grow in forests cannot germinate unless they have been exposed to fire. Design an experiment to test whether a particular plant has seeds with this requirement. Include your hypothesis statement, a description of both the control and experimental groups, and an outline of your procedure. Thank you so much!

Vocaloid:

The purpose of the experiment is to test whether a plant has seeds that can only germinate when exposed to fire. A typical hypothesis takes an "if-then" form. If (some condition is applied) then (some result will happen.) What's the condition being applied to the seed, and what do you predict will happen? We don't know yet whether this seed only germinates in fire or not, so you could predict that it *does* require fire, or it does *not* require fire. Either one would be a valid hypothesis. For the control group, the subjects in this group should *not* have the experimental condition applied. The experimental group *should* have the experimental condition applied. The two groups should be identical in all other aspects besides the experimental condition. That way, you're only comparing the effect of the experimental condition, and not other factors. I won't write the whole procedure, but think about the steps you'd carry out to complete this experiment. Think about what materials you'd need, and how you would carry out the experiment step by step. I can help you out further if you get stuck.
