I've never gotten sunburn but avoid laying or having the area contact too much and stay out of excessive sunlight, wear sunblock.

lotion, lots of it. its gonna hurt for like another day but if you keep lotion on ur burn then it won't peel and be all nasty. Plus ur skin will  be amazing after.

aloe gel, and a very light, loose shirt. definitely use some topical. aloe vera is very helpful for sunburns :)
