surjithayer:
let x pints valued at 6.25 $/pt be mixed with 80 pints of ice cream valued at $3.50/pt.
to make (80+x) pints of ice cream valued at $5/pt.
6.25x+80*3.50=(80+x)*5
6.25 x+280.00=400+5x
6.25x-5x=400-280
1.25x=120
125x=12000
x=12000/125=96
reqd. quantity =96 pt
