To kick off the summer, Maura is planning a "School's Out!" party for all her friends. She and her mom pick up a giant sub and a vat of root beer from Subs & Suds. When they get to the park, they cut the sub into 12 equal sections. Each section is 1 4 of a foot long. Which equation can you use to find the length g of the giant sub?

kingvox:

12 times 1/4 because if u divide 3 by 1/4 u get 12

kingvox:

so the original length of the sub was 3ft

IS THIS ENGLISH OR MATHEMATICS?

@jefferson817066 Here's what you do: Step one - Your formula for this equation will be g = 12 x 1/4 Step two - You multiply 12 x 1/4. How you do this is you multiply straight across 12/1 x 1/4. 12 x 1 = 12 and 1 x 4 = 4. Step three - Divide. Now all you do is divide 12/4, which gives you three. Therefore, g = 3.
