write the ratios for sin X,cos X, and tan X.
the x is at the top adjacent to it is 5 on the outside 13 is the hypotenuse y is the right angle point 12 is the base z is the line segment of the hypotenuse
Ok, so SOHCAHTOA tells us the ratios for the sin, cos, and tangent: Sin = Opposite / Hypotenuse Cos = Adjacent / Hypotenuse Tan = Opposite / Adjacent
ok so since im finding the sin of x cos of x and tan of x the sin is
sin = 12/13 cos = 5/13 tan = 12/5
That sounds right -- though I don't have the actual drawing in front of me, so I can't be 100% sure :)
