OpenStudy (gilbert):

Given that 1.00in^2=6.45cm^2, what area in square inches is 36.3cm^2 ?

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

You can set this up like this: \[36.3\text{ cm}^2 \cdot \frac{1\text{ in}^2}{6.46\text{ cm}^2}\] Then do the multiplication. Notice that the cm^2 cancels in the multiplication, and you are left with in^2.
