is this pair of lines parallel, perpendicular, or neither? 5x - 6y = 19 6x + 5y = -30

You'll need to convert each equation into slope-intercept form [ y=mx +b ]. Then compare the slopes (the coefficient in front of the x variable). If the lines are parallel then the coeffiecients of each equation will match. If the lines are perpendicular then one coeffiecient will be the like this... slope 1: 5/3 Slope 2: -3/5 <-- the negative inverse of each other.
