5 can go into 4 0 times, thus place your point after the 4 and add a zero after the point to give: 5]4.0, now treat as if dividing 40 by 5...40 divided by 5 is 8
so at the top of you division opperator you should have a followed by an 8...but since you added a point after the fist operation which gave you 0, a point must also be placed in you answer after the 0 but before the 8...so your answer is 0.8
