solve for x x/2+x/3=15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the easiest way to solve this problem is to get the x out of the numerator, \[x1/2+x1/3= 15\] now just factor out x on the left hand side and you get \[x(1/2+1/3)=15\]. simply divide 15 by (1/2+1/3) and you get x. You should wind up with 5/6 as the denominator, which you divide 15 by to get 6(15)/5.
