The degree of a polynomial refers to the powers to which it is raised. The degree of \[x^2\] is 2. The degree of \[x^3\] is 3. In a polynomial with many terms, like the one you have listed, you add the degrees of each term. So in this case, it would be: 4+9+6+5+3 = 27. The polynomial is of degree 27.
