how does volume change as perimeter changes?
This is a problem involving addition and multiplication. Look at the units, in SI notation. The perimeter, be a square (4x, where x is the length of one side), or a circle (2\[\Pi\]r^2), the units are all in METERS. now, the volume is a different story, the volume is METERS CUBED. So if the perimeter of a UNIFORM REGULAR SHAPED OBJECT, like a cube is increased, the volume is increased by a conversion power of 3. But if it's not a uniform object, then no one can say anything about it cause the perimeter of one little side might shrink but the size can still increase. This problem is trying to relate 2D to 3D... you might want to check if it's really "perimeter" that it's asking.. should be "surface area"
