4a/5 divided by a^2 -16/3 I am so lost, and help would be great!

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

okay so did you mean: \[(4a/5) / (a^2 - (16/3))\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I wasnt exactly sure how to put it on here

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

okay first, look at the denominator: \[a^2 - 16/3\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Simplify it (find the common denominator): \[a^2 - (16/3) = (3a^2-16)/3\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Now rewrite this: \[(4a/5) / (a^2 - (16/3)\] As: \[(4a/5)/((3a^2-16)/3)\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its inverse.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

\[(4a/5) * (3/(3a^2-16))\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Simplify:

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

\[12a/(5(3a^2 - 16))\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

so what is the question? simplify it, or is it equal to something and u have to solve for a. I mean you can't really simplify this

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

this is as neat as it gets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is simplify... this class is beating the ---- outta me!

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

well that's as much as you can simplify it if the original expression is correct. Click on Become a fan if I helped, lol I'm trying to see what comes after superhero. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it! I have clicked on Become a Fan! You are awesome!

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):
