6/(y-2) + 7/(y-8) = (y-1)/(y-8)

You will want to cancel out the terms in the denominator by multiplying everything by (y-2)(y-8). Hope that helps!

When you multiply through, (y-2) cancels out on the top and bottom of the first term and (y-8) cancels out on the other two leaving you with:\[6(y-8) + 7(y-2) = (y-1)(y-2)\]
