find derivate (3x^3) - (8x^3/4/3) - (3/x^3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not quite sure what the second term is... (8x³/4)/3 or 8x³/(4/3) there's a difference... anyway, for the first term, power rule - 9x² for the third term, bring the x³ to make it 3x^-3 power rule again -9x^-4 aka -9/(x^4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, first term is not negative lol just 9x²...third term is negative though lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know thank you but the second is 8X^3/4 DIVIDED BY 3 AND THE LAST TERM IS 3/X^3 WHICH IS 3X^-3 RIGHT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, second term is (8x³/4)/3 rewrite as 8x³/12. if you look at it, its just like saying (8/12) times x³ so you could apply the power rule (almost pretending the 8/12 is just another easy whole number) so you'd get (24/12)x² and yes, the last term u bring the x³ up to x^-3. then apply power rule :) You got this!
