Basically SOH CAH TOA tells you which trig function to use when you are given an angle and two sides.

O = Opposite
A = Adjacent
H = Hypotenuse
S = Sine
C = Cosine
T = Tangent
When you're given the Opposite side (in relation to the angle) and the hypotenuse, you use Sine (SOH)

The same pattern follows for the rest of SOH CAH TOA
