solve for the given variable: w = uv + t ; u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u = w/v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answer was close how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to get u on one side. So I divided v on both sides which get's rid of it on one side and makes the other side w/v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you type that out? (i'm sorry for asking you to be so detailed)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w = uv you need to get 'u' on a side by it's own. since u and v are next to eachother with no signs (+, -, /) that means they are multiplying. The only way to get rid of the v is to do the opposite to it, so you divide, and what you do to one side, you do to the other. so w/v = uv/v the v cancels out on the side with the u. which leaves you with w/v = u Then to clean it up, i made it u = w/v

Thank you.
