60% of the original is water or antifreeze?
Ok, here are our facts: 1) 25 quarts in radiator and 60% is antifreeze now or = 25*.60 = 15 quarts are antifreeze 2) We want 40% or = 25*.40 = 10 quarts of antifreeze for our end result 3) So, we need to eliminate 5 quarts of antifreeze to get our answer 4) 5/.6 = 8 and 1/3 quarts I believe that is the answer, take out 8.3333 quarts and replace with water for desired amount
