dividing polynomials divide: (-2^3(cubed)+5x^2(squared)-x+2)+(x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-2x^{3} + 5x^{2} - x +2 \div x + 2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that what we're looking at?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

presumably so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't it just -2x^2 +x +1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dunno, I assume you'd just cancel out the x and 2 on both the numerator and denominator and get \[-2x^{3} + 5x ^{?}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ugh, computer's messing it up, I meant x to the second and then subtract one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that answer
