I am just into an Algebra class online ,and am not catching it.. I have a study plan to work on, things I do not get, and need to learn how to do, 1st example, 0.2x < -4, what it the solution set {xI_}?

The solution is any variable for x that will make the argument true. Your argument is that the value you plug in for x will be lower than -4. So you are saying that x will always produce that. So working backwards you get what x equals. X is anything that will produce that to be true. So x is anyting less than -20. Because if you plug in -20 for x then that gives you -4. So the way to write your answer is x<-20. Values in the set are -21,-22 and so on to negative infinity. Note that infinity is not a number, just something you approach.
