Can someone explain this to me please. I am adding 10b+-5b+b. When I add or multiply a single letter like "b", do I subtract or add? For the first part 10b+-5b=5b now I need to add b. So will it be 5b^2 or 4b. Please simplify for me. Thanks.
If your adding 10b+-5b+b (if I got that right) then your answer should be simple. You just add the coefficients in front of each of the b's. What I mean by that is your answer will be 10-5+1 = 6 , so your answer will be 10b+-5b+b= 6b
Become a fan of mine if this helped at all :D
Ok so basically when I see a letter by itself, I just add 1.
Yes but only if it is the same letter as the other letter (such as in this case) and the letter cannot have a different exponent. For example b+b+5b+6b is all good. But b+ b^2 cannot happen
Understand, thank you for your help
No problem : )
