OpenStudy (anonymous):

can I get help to solve a algebra problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the y-intercept and the x-intercept for the equation. 4x + 5y=100 what is the y-intercept? (type an ordered pair.) what is the x-intercept? (type an ordered pairs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the x intercept is 25 n y intercept is 20 ...that is (25,20)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first answer is to t is 25 n and the y t is 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the n for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm sorry there's no 'n" there it was just an "&"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh k the answer for y is 20 and x is 25 that's it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-intercept = 25 & y-intercept=20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh k the answer for y is 20 and x is 25 that's it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can we work on another problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know the method , don't you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah ..sure..lemme try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the corrdinates of the y-intercept and of the x- intercept for the line displayed on the right. type an ordered pair.) what is the x intercept? type the order pair.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which line? displayed on the right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may i know what is the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 I do not know how to write these graphs and lines I am so confuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a red line running from under the x on the right hand side

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if there is a picture of it; the x-intercept is where the line cross the x-axis; and the y-intercept is where the line crosses the y-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes..exactly..gabrieal, just look at the point where the line touches both the axes, those are the intercepts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the top is 6 y to the bottom is -6 now the x across at the bottom of axis is 6 from the right and obove the left on the y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are no in the middle of the 0 starting point but 6 axis to 6 y

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if I understand you correctly; you say that the line touches the x axis at x=6; and the line touches the y xis at y=-6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is diangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the line is touching the graph at 2 points , am i right? then they are 6 & -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 on x(right side) and -6 on y(upwards)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it that way?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y-intercept = (0,-6); x-intercept = (6.0). If we understand you correctly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which I could fax these graphs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm..the answer given by amistre64 is right, i guess , if the graph seems that way

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Determine whether (6,3) is a solution of y= 6x -4 Is the point (6,3) a solution of the equation y = 6x - 4? yes or no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

plug in x and y to solve :) 6(6)=36-4=32 which is not equal to 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the point (6,3) satisfies the given equation then it is a solution , that means, if 3=6(6)-4 then (6,3) is a solution..so in this case it is not so...and hence the point is not a solution :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understood?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was the point 6,3 a solution of the equation so the answer is no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

determine whether (3,5) is a solution of the equation 4p-7q = 11? is it yes or no--------------

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we have no way to determine the value of "p" or "q" with the given information.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the solution of a given equation when we have the points, just substitute those points in t e equation to find whether they satisfy the equation or not.If they do, then that is the solution else thats not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hay i am getting thit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer yes or not

OpenStudy (amistre64):

If (3,5) is supposed to represent p nd q in some fashion then: 4(3) - 7(5) = 12 - 35 is not equal to 11 4(5) - 7(3) = 20 - 21 is not equal to 11. Either way, it doesnt seem to add up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the answer is no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A roof rises 2.1 feet vertically and 11 feet horizontally. What is the grade of the roof? the grade of the roof is ----------% round to the nearest percent as needed.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you have any new questions; please type them in the "ask a question" box so that they show up in the list for people to see. Thank you.
