If I remember correctly, and I seldom do, LCD is the Lowest Common Denominator.

We need to make (7ab^5) and (7a^3b^3) look the same.

As it turns out, they both have a (7) so we can use it.

They both have an (a), but different amounts of (a)s. The biggest amount we need is three little (a)s; which is (a^3)

7a^3....

There is a (b) invovled. And the biggest amount of (b)s we need are 5 little (b)s; or (b^5)

7a^3b^5 This is the smallest useful number that the denominators have in common.
