1/2+3/4=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first, make the denominator for both fractions hav same number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 12 but i dont know how to get the top number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first, note that 1/2=2/4 now u hav 2/4+3/4= (2+3)/4 = 5/4 did u understand how i do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still dont ger it this wat i did 1/3 +1/4= /12+/12 i dont get how to get the 1 number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. first consider 1/2. it also equal to 2/4 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait mick. are u asking about other question? because 1/3+1/4 not the question u wrote above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes 1/3 + 1/4 = in addition with unlike denominators

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so. u got it right by having 12 as common denominator. 1/3 = 1/3*4/4 = 4/12 and 1/4 = 1/4*3/3= 3/12 u understand this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am srry is there a easy way am in 5th grade

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u understand if i say 1/3=2/6 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the promblem is 1/3+1/4= in addition with unlike denominators the bottoum number is 12 on both of then but wat is the top number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i was trying to tell u. how to determine the top number. if u multiply bottom with a number, let say N. u also hav to multiply the top number with N.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wat would i mulipy the top number to get the top number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for 1/3, u hav to multiply by 4 to get the bottom 12. so u multiply 4 at the top as well. for 1/4, u hav to multiply by 3 to get the bottom 12. so u multiply 3 at the top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mulipy 1/4 and 1/3 by 3 to get the top number is that wat ur sating i think i got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not both multiply by 3. 1/4 multiply by 3 but 1/3 multiply by 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the bottom number for both is 12 rigth and the top is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the top should be 4 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 4/12 and 3/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wats 7/12 in simpleast form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wats 7/12 in simplest form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i answered yes. thats the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its not wat is t7/12 in simplest form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7/12 is the simplest form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it cant go lower

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it cant be lower

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k i need help on 6 mores k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the same addition with unlike denominators

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry mick.i wish i can help more. but its already late here. i need to go to sleep. try use the same way. or ask others for help if u get stuck. good luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can we go fast so i can go to bed can u aleast give the answers but how u do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello can u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r u there
