Samantha wants to use decorative paper for the outside of bucket without the lid on it. To do this she must find the surface area of this cyclinder without the top. The bucket has radius of 9ft and a height of 16ft. How much decorative paper does she need to cover the outside of the bucket?

\[\pi \times (2)9 \times16\] For this you are going to need the diameter of the bucket. It gives us the radius, so 2 time the radius is the diameter. Then multiply that by pi and you have there circumference of the bucket. Multiply all of this by the height and you have the area of the outside of this bucket. 904.32 ft^2 You may want to check that your problem says ft instead of inches, just seams like a ready big bucket.
