as t approaches pi from the bottom, secant t approaches what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how so??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, the trig functions are periodic and their values ocillate between a max and - max point. If t is a value, and sec(t) is an operating function. The cos (pi) =- 1, the sec(x) = 1 /cos(t). and is therefore actually -1. 1 would be if t is apporoaching 2pi.

thats what i thought. therefore, 1 would also be the answer for 0 from the top. correct??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right if you're coming from say pi/6 or something else in quadrant I going to zero.
