f(x)=x+3 If -2
what about it?
and I have to sketch it I'm completely lost
hmm...
I'm sure you really are a life saver
well, the way to sketch a "piece-wise" defined function is to attack each "piece" separately
this is difficult to explain in words...
ok
do I always use 0,1,and 2 to enter into the equation?
to figure out what goes where?
first lets get the function written in notation so we can see what we are dealing with...one second
There are four parts to this question. a) find the domain, b) locate any intercepts, c) graph each function and d) based on the graph find the range. I don't understand where to start on any of it.
I had the flu and missed one class and I don't understand
this is what I think the function is...\[f(x)=x+3\], if \[-2\leq x <1\], 5 if \[x=1\], \[-x+2\] if \[x>1\]
no worries, I just wanted to make sure I understood the function before starting an explanation
yes thank you
my suggestion is this, first mark your intervals on the x-axis with the appropriate (,),[, or ] notation
then sketch the graph of the function with the rule that pertains to the appropriate interval
this is a 5 second explanation with on a dry erase board...
i suggest looking on youtube for a video demostration
demonstration
now what? I don't know anything about u tube or how to get a math video, I lucked out with you guys
