The way you solve these kinds are by trying to get m by itself in the middle. What you do in the middle to get the m byitself you do to both the left side and the right side. So the first thing you do is to subtract 2 (-2) from the left, the middle and thr right. You would get -8 < -3m < 5 because -6 - 2 = -8 7 - 2 = 5... Then to get m by itself you divide all three places by -3.. so you would get 8/3 < m < -5/3 .. The problem is, when you divide by a -# or multiply by a -# you have to flip the signs. So you actually get 8/3 > m > -5/3 but you can't write these kinds with > signs so you actually turn it around by reading from the right to the left. -5/3 < m < 8/3
