\[3x/x ^{2}-3x-4\] 3x is over all the rest...

The y-intercept is where x = 0 so just put in 0 for every x. 3x0 over 0^2 - 3x0 - 4 which would be 0/-4 = 0 This graph goes thru 0,0 which is where it hits on the y axis.
