Yes... You are trying to find the area of the shaded part. I think I helped you yesterday. Anyway. Look at #5 - do you see the little tick marks that are on the edge of the circle?

So the entire circle is 360 degrees and the circle is cut into 8 equal parts so each part is 360/8 = 45 degrees.
You have three shaded areas so you have 45 * 3 = 135 degrees worth of shaded parts
You also have a radius of 5 inches
Your formula is 135/360 * pi * 5^5
So in your calculator you should get about 9.82 square inches.

We also know the radius = 11 inches

On the circle ones you find the area of the entire circle and then subtract the area of the white area. It would be like taking the whole circle and then cutting out the white area and throwing it away. How much would be left?

#7. Area of a circle = pi r^2.
Area of the big circle = pi * 8^2 because the radius is the length from the center of the circle to the outside edge. So you would add 5 + 3 to get the radius.
The area of the inside circle (white part) would be
A = pi * 5^2

So the whole circle = 64 pi and the white circle = 25 pi so you can write the answer as 39 pi inches squared or if you want a number take 39 * pi in your calculator and you should get 122.52 square inches
