You just find the common denominator for each fraction, and then add across

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add. Write in simplest form 7 4/5 +8 4/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13 4/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so since your fractions already have common denominators (5) you can just add across. Add the whole numbers (7+8)= 15 then add the numerators of your fractions (4+4)=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This gives you 15 8/5 but because you started with a mixed fraction you should end up with one for your answer. 16 3/5 is the answer

Do you know how to change a mixed number into an improper fraction?
