Write an algebraic expression to answer the question below....... If one caculator costs d dollars, what is the cost, in dollars, of 8 caculators? i came up with 8/d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the very basics of getting into algebra. Very important you get this. What would be your answer if each calculator cost $3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. What would be your answer if each calculator cost $10? (Stay with me here, this is important)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. What would be you answer if each calculator cost $d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you do with the numbers I gave you before like the 8 and the 10 to get me the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol 104

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Didn't you take my number and multiply by 8? Sorry I should have said like the 3 and the 10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 calculators at $3 each costs 8 x 3 = $24 8 calculators at $10 each costs 8 x 10 = $80 8 calculators at $7 each costs 8 x 7 = $56 SO..... 8 calculators at $d each costs 8 x d = $8d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i put when i wrote down the problem on here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it says 8/d on your question. it isn't 8/d it is 8d which means 8 times d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8D. Since one calc is D dollars, 8 calculators is 8 * D= 8D.

thank you guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome. fan me
