OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this simplified as much as possible? (a^2 + a - 6)/(a^2 - a - 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a-2)(a+1) for the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait does that count as simplifying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure, it's factoring, but idk if you can do it to both numerator and denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and (a+3)(a-2) for the numerator, and then you cancel (a-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you get (a-3)/(a+1), if my maths is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean a+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you in math 95? This looks like a quadratic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it should end up as a^2+b+c format

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes

OpenStudy (radar):

You could factor the numerator, but it doesn't get you anything you could then write the equation as: [(a-3)(a+2)]/[(a+1)(a-2)]
