(5(x-8)^4*(x+1)^7)/(x^11+9x^4+8) What is the horizontal asymptote?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the horizontal aymptote is easiest to find when everything is in an addition form that top needs work on it...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is that: 5(x-8)^4 (x+1)^7 on top there?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

I can tell already that its gonna be 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no I cant, that was presumptious of me....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5x^4 x^7 is going to be the controlling terms on top... 5x^11 + ..(other stuff which doesnt matter)... --------------------- x^11 + ...(other stuff that goes to zero).... Your Horizontal Asymptote is going to be: y=5

o, i see thanks!!
