ok so it gives me a cube with a width of 9in a length of 11in and the height is 10in. find the surface area of the prism
Okay...this isn't as difficult as it seems.
You should draw a rectangular prism and put in the length, width and height. Can you do this first?
give me sec
Okay, I'll draw one too.
do u know what the surface area formula is
Yes
It's just going to be the sum of the rectangles that make up that surface. That's why I got you to draw it, so you don't lose track.
The face closest to you in my pic. has an area of 10 x 11 = 110 inches squared. But there's another one of these on the other side. So you so far have two faces whose area you know. Now look at the side of prism. It has dimensions 9 x 10 = 90 inches squared. But again, you have two faces this size (the one on the other side too). So now you know the area of four of the six faces. Lastly, look at the face on top. It will have dimensions 11 x 9 = 99 inches squared. But again, there's another face with this area on the bottom. You now know the area of each of the faces of the prism. All you have to do is add them up.
\[110 +110+90+90+99+99=598\]square inches.
oh that makes complete sense thanks bro i might i have another 1for u
Sure. Are you a fan already? I need the points ;)
