What is the difference between lateral surface area and total surface area? If there are different formulas for each, please list them.
The lateral surface area is the area of all sides excluding the area of the base. For a cone, it would be all the area excluding the circular base; for a cylinder, the area between the two circular bases; etc.
Total surface area's pretty straightforward.
ok i understand that now, do you just add up the sides of them or multiply them,
It depends on your shape..
what about for prsims, cones,, triangles, and cubes, squares is there a diff
Lateral area is simply the area of all the faces except the base faces. There is really nothing more you can say; you'd have to make a specific formula for each case.
ok i understand that now Its all guud!!!!!!!!!!1
