Your common denominator is r(r-8) so you need to create two fractions with r(r-8) on the bottom.

You then ask yourself what do I need to multiply the r on the bottom of the first fraction to get r(r-8)....... you need an "r-8" so you multiply the top by "r-8" and you get 2(r-8) = 2r - 16 so you now have

(2r - 16)/(r(r-8) +

Then you ask yourself what do I need to multiply the "r-8" on the bottom of the second fraction to get r(r-8).... you need an "r" so you multiply the top by "r" and you get 9r/(r(r-8)) so you now have

(2r - 16)((r(r-8)) + 9r/((r(r-8)) so you have (11r - 16)/(r(r-8))

** You don't need the ( )'s when you write this down, I just used them so you know what is on top of what.. You wil need the r(r-8) parentheses.
