factor by grouping: r^2-6tw-2wr-3tr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure all of your sign are correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im sorrry it's a "+2wr"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(r^2+2wr) + (-6tw-3tr) maybe: r(r+2w) -3t(2w+r) (r+2w)(r-3t) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK rearrange the terms r^2 + 2wr - 6tw - 3tr The first two terms have a common factor of r so... r(r + 2w) The last two terms have a common factor of -3t so... -3t(2w + r) So r(r+2w) - 3t(2w + r) you can switch around the 2w + r to r + 2w because of the commutative property over additon r(r + 2w) - 3t(r + 2w) they both have a (r +2w) term so (r + 2w)(r - 3t) is your answer
