If we know a system of equations is underdetermined, does the system have any solutions?

Yes... it has multiple or infinite number of solutions.. Basically the two equations which represent two lines were the same lines, so they actually lie on top of each other, that is why you have multiple solutions.

ok, here is my problem. I have a system of equations with 5 variables and  3 equations. Does this still have any solutions?

ok. Let me see:

$$2x_{1}-x_{2}-x_{3}+x_{4}+x_{5}=0$$
$$x_{1}-x_{2}+x_{3}+2x_{4}-3x_{5}=0$$
$$3x_{1}-2x_{2}-x_{3}-x_{4}+2x_{5}=0$$
