a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b) a^3 - b^3. By inspection, we have a factor of (a-b), if we divide/whatever by this, we get: a3 - b^3 = (a-b)(a^2 + ab + b^2) (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2 by definition. But this trinomial pellet sounds very Americanised, so I can;t help.
