find the radius of a circle with an area of 38ft squared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A=\pi*r^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that is the formula but i am not sure how to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so after plugging in values you get. \[38=\pi*r^2\] so then divide by \[\pi\] and take the square root of that number to get r.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got a weird number when i divided 38 by pie 12.09577567

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That weird number is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you just need to take the square root. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 3.477898168 is i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. You can always check yourself by plugging your answer into the equation for r.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you very much i got what i needed

You're welcome. :)
