does the system have one solution, no solution, or an infinite number of solutions? 2x-y=5 -4x+2y=-18 a. infinite number b.one c. none
These two lines are not parallel.
Oh wait. Yes they are.
Bleh. sorry. \[y = 2x -5 \text{ is the first line}\] \[y = 2x - 18 \text{ is the second line}\] They have the same slope (2) but are not the same line. Therefore they have no solutions.
I don't think there's a solution... if you double the first equation and add it to the second, you get: -4x + 4x -2y + 2x = 10-18 And -8 is not 0...
Yeah, or what he said.
err. y=2x-9 is the second line. But still not the same line and are parallel therefore no solutions.
lol you guys are funny and pretty good at math gracias (thanks)
Do you see how I arrived at the equations for those lines?
yes i am very much begining to understand :)
