Please help with two questions both are multiple questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the area of a hexagon with side a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12*6=72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the perimeter. a hexagon can be thought of as 5 equilateral triangles stuck side by side of side a. so it is 5 times the area of a equilateral triangle of side a. do you know the formula for finding out the area of an equilateral triangle of side a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry 6 equilateral triangles. it is 6 times the area of a equilateral triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not that i can remember

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would this be the base area 374.12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then for the second one it would be A for both of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, I am sure the base area is greater for the cone. I am not sure about the volume just by looking at the dimensions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

base area for the cone is 452.39in and for the prism its 172.05in
